I genuinely believe that the next most important act of resistance people can do right now, beyond supporting the vulnerable and going to protests, is getting off big tech. We can do this. It doesn't have to be this way. Because most of their money is from advertising, we don't pay for these services. The cost of the service is the extraordinary political power these tech tools give o.oooo1% of the population. We are paying a terrible price for these services.

Healthcare exchanges in Nevada, Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island shared users’ sensitive health data with companies like Google and LinkedIn
Maine’s exchange, CoverME.gov, sent information on drug prescriptions and dosages to Google through an analytics tool. It also sent the names of doctors and hospitals that people had previously visited.

Lies, Information Spaces, and Changing Minds
The scary thing we are learning is, to our collective horror, we have built up very little institutional or cultural resilience to fascists, specifically their lies and manipulation. The good news is that we are getting a crash course in how to build that resilience, and it can be pretty straightforward.
I think the foundation of democratic resilience is ending bothsides-ism in #media. Once someone demostrates they are untrustworthy, their voice needs to be dismissed outright. As consumers, all of us have the agency to reject sources that rely on both-sidesism and clickbait catastrophizing. This will take time to learn good habits and it involves collective responsibility, but I believe we can do this.
These battles are won in information spaces, and while autocrats have the advantage of corporate mouthpiece control, they have the disadvantage of being grossly incompetent and stupidly cruel. Their 'brand' is technocratic efficiency and objectivity. As crazy as it sounds, a lot of people dont know they are being lied to because of the information spaces they are trapped in and the blinders they have put up. Our pressure on autocrats, pointing out their incompetence, stupidity, and cruelty, needs to be relentless in order to destroy their brand and help people break free of these bubbles.
I know its distressing to see so many fall for outright lies, but people are very capable of changing their minds when they are presented with evidence that touches on their personal experiences. I point back to collective responsibility to win back minds and diligently fight against authoritarian propoganda, as all of us who have used #BigTech or ever believed in 'meritocracy' have helped build this world.

“Technofeudalism” is officially my word of the year, if not the decade (century, possibly). I wish more people were aware of it.
The #Fediverse feels more and more like a safe haven for me. And in the bleakness of our current political and technological situation, I’m comforted by the fact I’m currently self-hosting essential services (thank you @yunohost ).
TL;DR: I’m super grateful for the existence of the #Fediverse and the fact I’ve learned how to self-host – two amazing ways to resist technofeudalism.

現實：我只是一直開著 Proton VPN 連德國節點保護隱私而已，根本沒去過德國 😅
更搞笑的是我基本上不怎麼用 Google 服務，我用 Startpage、Disroot、Proton Drive、CoMaps 等替代品，Google 花大力氣分析一個幾乎不存在的使用者，然後得出完全錯誤的結論，還要正式發郵件通知我這個「重大發現」😂
最離譜的是這次「遷移」還會把我的賬號換成愛爾蘭的公司，讓我享受到 GDPR 和 BDSG？所以 Google 的錯誤判斷實際上給了我更強的隱私權利，這就像小偷闖你家結果幫你修門鎖一樣逆天 🤡
世界上最先進的數據分析公司被一個簡單的 VPN 完全耍了，還以為自己很牛逼然後幫我提升了隱私保護等級，媽的笑死我了哈哈哈哈，感謝 Google 證明我的隱私策略有多成功，這大概就是傳說中的「人工智障」吧 🙃
