Rated Wind and Truth 8/10
Wind and Truth is a solid entry in The Stormlight Archive and a good capstone to its first main story arc. The writing is good and engaging, and the long build-up is very eventful. Still, at 1,330 pages, there is just so much of it. Rated The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line 8/10
This likely would have been a solid three-star audiobook for me: a nice page-turner with all the loops and misdirections one can expect from a Veronica Mars story. What pushed it to four stars was Kristen Bell's narration. It makes sense that she's the best person to voice Veronica herself, but there are also moments where her portrayals of Mac and Wallace are eerily recognizable from the show. While I really (REALLY) miss Stephen Briggs' character work, I love that Bill Nighy is so present as Death in this one, along with the main narration and other characters by Sian Clifford.<br/><br/>The novel itself is fun as usual for Pratchett and there are plenty of new, memorable characters here, but Nighy's Hooo, hooo, hooooos are what made me laugh frequently.<br/><br/>Susan, the Death of Rats (squeak), and Quoth the raven were all great additions to spend time with as well.<br/><br/>Full review: https://puf.io/books/hogfather---terry-pratchett/<br/><br/>All my reviews: https://puf.io/books/

liked that this book picks up an annoying loose thread from the TV show: whatever happened to Meg Manning's little sister Grace?<br/><br/>Unfortunately the book's main plot didn't grip me very much, and Veronica herself is all over the place - in an annoying way. A very interesting, fresh take on a deservedly well-covered period of history. Including many perspectives on the same events the book gives it breadth and depth, and make for a compelling read throughout its 640 pages. Rated The Humem State: The Emergence and Establishment of Our Extended Presence 6/10
The concepts Alan Brook covers in The Humem State are fascinating, and the book feels more relevant today than I can imagine it being 10+ years ago. As we pour more of ourselves into online presences and agents, we will at some point have to consider where I end and the humem or agent begins.<br/><br/>That said, I found the book overly optimistic, mostly highlighting the great things that might happen while ignoring potential downsides and risks. I also found the writing style overly academic, which made it borderline unreadable to me at times.<br/><br/>Overall, I am glad that I read it for its interesting ideas, but I kept wondering how the same concepts would read as science fiction stories.<br/><br/>Full review: https://puf.io/books/the-humem-state---alan-brook/

All Murderbot books are relatively short, and this one is a novella rather than a full novel. I don't mind, as any story about a rogue security robot figuring out its place among humans is fun.<br/><br/>I didn’t enjoy this one as much as previous entries, though. The self-narration around feelings and TV shows feels repetitive by now, especially in such a short book. A fun coming of age story with interesting world building, and a plot that develops at a good pace. The characters are interesting, although they are (especially early on) a bit flat. I don't mind it too much, as it makes this an easy read.<br/><br/>What I minded more was the overly present romance plot (expected in this genre) and the very explicit sex chapters. Those parts were not my cup of tea.
