Rated Missy Series 4: Bad Influence 9/10
<div>Another great set of Missy adventures.</div>
Rated Montana Noir 10/10
Even though there were a few stories that I didn't love every bit of, and one I just didn't like (Downtown Billings, looking at you, but maybe I'm missing something), I still LOVED this collection. It is such a RELIEF to read a book that really makes an effort to get Montana right. Sure we have cowboys and all that, but we're just as varied here as many other places. It's hard to pick a favorite, but maybe Debra Magpie Earling's Polson-set story is it. The pacing, the details, all of it: perfection. <br><br>Other highlights include David Abrams, Caroline Patterson, Eric Heidle, Keir Graff, Jamie Ford, and Janet Skeslien Charles' stories. Also, if you get a chance to see Yvonne Seng read aloud, do so, because that woman's voice is magnificent.<br><br>Full disclosure: I do know some of the authors personally, but we're a state of only a million people. It would be weird if I didn't.

Rated Missy: Series 1 10/10
When I originally reviewed these stories, they were all separated in the Goodreads system, so I had 4 different ratings, but I'll rate it here again: If loved Missy on the show, you'll also love this. And the second audio collection. And whatever more are hopefully coming.
Wants to read Museum of the Americas
Rated My Scotland 8/10
<div>Last year, I read a lot of Val McDermid books (mostly the Karen Pirie series, but a few of the others too), so getting a used copy of this behind-the-scenes look at various locations she has used as inspiration for her books was interesting. The photos are great, and the book ends with a short story taking place on the Isle of Jura, and it's a good one. If you come across this and like her mysteries, it's worth reading.</div>

Rated Mutual Aid: Building Solidarity During This Crisis 10/10
<div>If you do ANY sort of community work, it's worth reading this, even if what you do is not strictly mutual aid. There's a lot to consider here (yes, even if you've been at this awhile), and it may inspire people to start new projects or work in different ways. The advice and information given is not one-size-fits-all. I like that this comes with a list of further resources, plus a link to a downloadable guide so that, no matter your group, everyone can figure out the best way to meet their goals. I can think of numerous organizations who would benefit from putting these skills into practice.</div>

<div>I wish the women had more to talk about besides other men in this one, but I still very much enjoy this series.</div>
(Fuller review forthcoming) Though I think I'm slightly aged out in terms of life-stages covered in this book, I still loved the silliness and puns. And of course I fully support drinking while cooking. It's the best, as long as you don't injure yourself.
