Rated Bernice Summerfield: In Time 8/10

Rated Oh No It Isn't! 8/10
I wouldn't say that every joke from 1998 held up, but this was a funny story, even to someone who is only loosely aware of Panto's tropes.
Rated By Nightfall 8/10
By Nightfall poses questions about success, how we define love and beauty, and what our basest instincts say about us when we are in peril. Michael Cunningham is an exceedingly good writer, more than deserving of the accolades he’s received over the years. I love any book that makes me identify and sympathize with a character through his/her bad decisions and confusion, since when we are truly honest with ourselves, we know we are capable of the very same things.

(Full review appears on Glorified Love Letters.)
Rated Bobby March Will Live Forever 8/10

I really enjoy this series, even when there are a couple of plot points that conveniently tie up some loose ends.

Rated Cleanness 10/10
I always say that love, lust, loneliness, and longing are the main topics worth writing about, and this book has all of that. Well worth a read.

Rated Dalek Empire I: Chapter Three -Death to the Daleks! 8/10
I was more into this third installment than the previous 2, so I'm glad I stuck with it. On to the closing act...
Rated Call Me By Your Name 10/10
This pressed on a few historic wounds, and I welcomed it.

Rated Caliban’s War 10/10
Still loving this series. My one quibble is, yes, we get it, Bobbie is bigger than the rest of them. No need to mention it every single time she walks into the room.

Rated Bloody January 8/10

A really solid, suspenseful mystery, but WHEW is it GRIM.

Rated Bruja 10/10
How appropriate to finish this book on Halloween (and also its official release date).

This book easily disproves the commonly heard refrain that hearing about other people's dreams is boring. BRUJA is certainly not boring, and is instead a surreal trip through art, anxiety, motherhood, California, and more. I loved it.

Particularly amusing to me were dreams involving cats... My cat dreams are usually hella weird.

Fuller review to come (she says with optimism because I've been slow about review writing this year).
