<p><a href="/tags/piefed/" rel="tag">#PieFed</a> just added a multi-reddit feature, which we&#x27;re calling &quot;Feeds&quot;. It combines multiple Communities (actors of type &quot;Group&quot; in ActivityPub) into one. </p><p>Feeds can be followed from other PieFed instances, which will subscribe the follower to all the communities in the feed.</p><p>Try it out at <a href="https://piefed.social/feeds" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>piefed.social/feeds</a></p><p>It&#x27;s similar to PieFed&#x27;s concept of a Topic <a href="https://piefed.social/topics" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>piefed.social/topics</a>, except topics are maintained by the instance admins. <p>Now I am curious, what&#x27;s our <a href="/tags/filipino/" rel="tag">#Filipino</a> word for <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> and <a href="/tags/socialweb/" rel="tag">#SocialWeb</a> ?</p><p>So far, I these for potential Filipino translation of &quot;Fediverse&quot;:</p><p>- bigkisberso (bigkis + uniberso)<br>- sansinukob = used in Filipino astronomy and literature to refer to the &quot;universe&quot; (I personally like this one)<br>- bukob (buklod + sukob) = just my invention</p><p>Other suggestions?</p><p>Since we&#x27;re talking about the Filipino language (not Tagalog language), this means all Philippine languages are valid. We can combine them together, even use the 6th vowel /ë/.</p><p>But how about &quot;Social Web&quot;?</p><p>I was told that the Filipino for &quot;Internet&quot; is &quot;daigbatan&quot;. I&#x27;m just not sure though since I can&#x27;t find information on &quot;batan&quot; other than:</p><p>- Original name of Bataän was Batan, a Spanish word for &quot;log&quot; (🪵) which the province was named after by the Spaniards.<br>- The Ivatan people call themselves in the Ivatan language as &quot;Batan&quot;. (Yes, Batanes = Isles of [the] Batan [people]. There’s an entire ecosystem of federated message boards that’s already proven popular: <a href="/tags/piefed/" rel="tag">#Piefed</a>, <a href="/tags/nodebb/" rel="tag">#NodeBB</a>, <a href="/tags/lemmy/" rel="tag">#Lemmy</a>, <a href="/tags/mbin/" rel="tag">#Mbin</a>, and <a href="/tags/discourse/" rel="tag">#Discourse</a>.</p><p>Even the classics like <a href="/tags/friendica/" rel="tag">#Friendica</a> and <a href="/tags/hubzilla/" rel="tag">#Hubzilla</a> have solid forum features baked in.</p><p>If you’re only here for the microblogging, you’re missing a key piece. Communities built around interests are something <a href="/tags/twitter/" rel="tag">#Twitter</a> never offered, and <a href="/tags/bluesky/" rel="tag">#Bluesky</a> still doesn’t.</p><p>So if you’re looking to replace your <a href="/tags/facebook/" rel="tag">#Facebook</a> Groups, the Fediverse already has you covered.</p>

They have never been ONLY covering the fediverse - Nostr, Farcaster, Bluesky - were always fully investigated, understood and reported on.
