NEW | Instagram has removed the verified account of Gaza slain journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi, who had 4.5 million followers.
Archived snapshots of his page on the Wayback Machine, the largest public internet archive, also appear to have been wiped or disabled, raising concerns about digital erasure of Palestinian documentation.
Al-Jafarawi, known for his frontline reporting on the Gaza genocide, had previously faced repeated censorship. He was killed yesterday by an armed group collaborating with Israel.
Observers warn that these developments may signal “a new phase in efforts to erase evidence of Israeli war crimes from the internet.”

This post makes me think : my parents told me that after WW-II when the Netherlands was liberated the soldiers from the so-called The Allies brought cigarettes and chocolate as presents. That appeared to be harmless, (though some people claim it wasn't) but Europe eventually became tainted with USA junk food from the likes of McDonalds and Burger King. The USA as some sort of golden cow we all had to obey. The same for Bayer-Monsanto's Roundup pesticide. The same for soldiers and nuclear weapons. The Dutch government has not wanted to confirm nor deny for decades that there were nuclear weapons from the USA stored in the Netherlands. Call it imperalism or call it a very low quality way of life but please remember that if you do not live in a place that is haunted by apartheid and genocide you as a consumer have a choice to say no to low quality USA products.
