In the Filipino language (n.b. All Philippine languages!), a change in pronunciation changes the meaning of a word. Here's an example which is ambigous in written form without proper Filipino diacritics.
「Labi ng labi ang labi sa labi.」
「The Filipino language belongs to the people who speak it, not the books that dictate it.」
「A writing script is a reflection of the spoken language.」
An example of code-mixing 3 languages naturally in: Chinese, Philippine English, and Filipino.
Only multilinguals are wired with a skill in smoothly code-mixing 2 or more languages in daily conversations.
17 yrs ago today, I released a #Baybayin chart still shared today. This June 12, 2026, for #Philippines Independence Day, I'm releasing another language script for my fellow Filipinos: #SuratInawa or The Living Script!
How to write "drama" in Surat Inawa (The Living Script): 듸라마 (dra·ma). In Hangeul or Hangul, it's written as 드라마 (deu·ra·ma).

The beauty of the Surat Inawa alphabet writing system is that it's strictly phonetic. Consider the following:
- 필리핀싀 (Philippines; aspirated P)
- 필리핀싀 (Pilipins; unaspirated P)
- 필리피낫 (Pilipinas; unaspirated P)
