Well fuck. Remember when I said I was going to be deploying a #Linux desktop for my mom's church's office? (My mother is the church secretary).

Yeah, that can't happen, because they use a proprietary church management software that is Windows based. Linux clients exist, but only for RHEL, SuSE Enterprise, CentOS, and Ubuntu. They state the packages will not work on other distros. The church will never pay for RedHat nor SuSE, CentOS is fucking shite, and Ubuntu is beyond shite. Even if I can get it working in another distro, the minute they have an issue, the vendor will stonewall the minute they see an unsupported configuration.

So I get to support a fucking Windows 11 machine.

I haven't touched a Windows computer in close to a year. This is gonna be fun on the bun.

Request: Post links to the latest Windows 11 defuckification tools.

Edit: Everybody can stop trying to suggest how I can actually run RHEL, or make another distro work, or how Ubuntu isn't all that terrible. I have talked myself out of Linux for a far more significant reason: I'm not doing this to support my mother's church. I am doing this to support my mother. When she steps down as secretary, I step down as IT support. Someone else is going to have to maintain this thing. It is a very safe bet they will not be proficient in Linux.

Edit Edit: In short, I frequently have to remind myself that my exit strategy is sometimes the most important consideration.
