My fren just stood there, waiting for me to refill the water bowl. Frenly.

A monochrome picture of a pigeon standing about three feet from me, slightly fluffed up and borb-like. Their head is tilted and they watch me, impatiently, while I take a picture before adding water to the bowl on the right.

Once the water was added, eight other pigeons walked over and took turns drinking and dunking their heads... splashing me when they shook off.

I love these little guys.

Home from the first decent walk I've been able to take for almost two months, with some nice photograph opportunities, so I'll show a selection. The walk along the canal before was nice and after the woods I went high, but it was really the woods I enjoyed most today. So.. another pic of the buzzard, a low light distant spot of a green woodpecker, a path through the woods and a view of the castle hill on the way up and above the escarpment

..and 3 more of autumn fruit to follow 💕🌿

Reflections at Low Tide

This image caught my eye partially, because of the sandbar and the tidal pool but mostly because of the odd perspective. In the upper left a ring-billed gull walks down a sandbar fro left to right. In the bottom right a snowy egret forages in a tidal pool. The gull farther away yet somehow appears larger than the egret which is a much larger species. It is an example of how photography can bend reality.

"A quiet stretch of shoreline lies under soft, warm light, the kind that comes in the early morning or late afternoon. The water is calm enough to act like a mirror, rippling gently as it reflects the sky and the shapes of the birds moving above it.

Auf dem Klarälven in Värmland hat man in früheren Zeiten Holz geflösst. Das Holz wurde aus den värmländischen Wäldern nach Karlstadt am Vänern-See verbracht, um dort verarbeitet zu werden, oder von dort weitertransportiert zu werden.
Diese Skulptur eines Flössers auf einem alten Brückenpfeiler mitten im Fluss erinnert an diese Zeiten.
