<p>A visit to Wangum Falls Bridge, located in Hawley. The bridge overlooks the Wangum Falls. The site of a Hollywood movie, it is a remote location enclosed by dense clusters of trees. The sun was behind us on this early summer morning and you can see the sunbeams coming through the branches. It was actually a bit spooky standing there. <p>January sunset at Twin Lakes - If it hadn't been so cloudy that evening, perhaps I would have seen the conjunction of planets I was looking for. But the ice on the lake, shimmering in the setting sun, made up for it. A minimalist, line-art selfie, made in Photoshop somewhere between 2010 and 2015. The style is highly abstract and minimalist, using only a few simple black lines on a white background to suggest the facial features and hair.

The hair is represented by a cluster of short, curved, somewhat jagged lines on the top of the head. Curved lines suggest the eyebrows or the crease of the forehead.The eyes give the impression of a focused gaze. There is a single, short, curved line that suggests the bottom and side of the nose. A long, gentle curve suggests the contour of the jaw and chin.

A simple, upward-curving horizontal line forms a smile.

<p>Morning in the city</p><p>Apart from some little cropping, I didn't do anything to this photo. It doesn't look quite real, like a city from a comic book. That's how I feel when I go into a big city. I'm always looking for the organic, the living, the sun and the shadows, but the superposition of lines, the rectangles and the brightness of all the glass behind this old building is what I like here.</p><p><a href="/tags/photography/" rel="tag">#photography</a> <a href="/tags/montreal/" rel="tag">#montreal</a> <a href="/tags/architecture/" rel="tag">#architecture</a></p>

The old stone building is a three-story presbytery, imposing but still having that human scale feeling. Behind the skyscrapers are much more impersonal and cold. At least from my point of view.
