Kusatsu to uzdrowisko lokalne, ze znanymi źródłami geotermalnymi o aromacie siarkowodoru - w całym miasteczku delikatnie capi starym jajem:-) Ma to swój urok.

W centrum miasta są potężne „tężnie” gdzie woda płynie i „pachnie”. Można tam spotkać masę japończyków w klasycznych strojach.
