A Monday morning walk.❤️🌅🌊

A golden yellow sunrise on the horizon peeking under light grey clouds. A wooded headland in silhouette even the calm sea, golden sands and grassy bank glow in the soft light.

Straatmuzikanten in Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Straatmuzikanten #Mexico #EdvanderElsken #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-298-9-85

The image shows a group of four men performing music outdoors. The man on the far left is holding drumsticks and appears to be playing a snare drum, which is mounted on stands with sheet music attached at the top. Next to him, another man holds sticks in his hands but does not appear to be actively engaged in any musical instrument; he seems more passive or possibly waiting for his turn.

In the center of the group, there's a person holding what looks like claves (a percussion instrument resembling maracas), and on their right stands another individual who is playing an accordion. All four men are wearing white hats and casual clothing suitable for outdoor activities. The setting appears informal with trees in the background, suggesting this might be taking place at or near a park.

The photograph has a vintage feel to it, likely from mid-20th century judging by the attire of the individuals and the black-and-white quality typical of that era's photography. This image is part of Ed van der Elsken’s collection titled "Straatmuzikanten in Mexico," captured around 1960 as indicated by its title, which translates to 'Street Musicians in Mexico'.

Aglais io #SilentSunday #butterfly #insects #macro #quebec #canada
#photography

Macro photograph of a peacock butterfly (Aglais io), with open wings on very small pink flowers of stonecrops, in focus in the foreground and blurred behind, in front of a blue background. The butterfly has a hairy brown body, two brown wings toothed on the rim, with beautiful colors: the lower wings have a bit of reddish hair near the body and a blue eye surrounded by a black ring, then very pale yellow ring and black again; The upper wings have an orange-red lower half, with an eye near the tip, red and black and blue, surrounded by yellow, then black and yellow spots, moving towards the center; the rim of the wings and the body seem to be sprinkled with golden powder. It does indeed look like a peacock, but above all has the head of an owl with large eyes.

Rain throughout the weekend, but I still did quite a bit of walking around grocery stores and a big outdoor retailer, and even got to see some trout 😉
Also, my wife got a pair of rain boots, and I got a bleacher seat 😄

Spyker’s presence on the Concorso Italiano consists of an incredible C8 Laviolette (long wheelbase), and an older prototype of a B6 Venator that never saw production.

I love Spyker cars, but it looks like the company is now “part of W Group”, a crypto/blockchain company. Blecch. https://spykercars.com/news/w-group
