Palace of Justice (Palácio da Justiça) in Brasília, Brazil, designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, featuring water cascading from the concrete arcade into a reflecting pool.

#architecture #Brazil #brasilia #nightphotography #photography #modernism #reflection #order #abstraction #

A monumental concrete arcade stretches diagonally into the distance, its repeated arches and projecting geometric forms creating a strong rhythm. Large glass windows sit behind the structure, illuminated from within against a deep black night sky. Warm architectural lighting emphasizes the rough concrete texture, while waterfalls descend into a reflecting pool below. The rippling water produces elongated, distorted reflections of the arches, lights, and windows, creating a layered and almost abstract composition.

A gravel driveway leads to a low stone wall with an arched opening covered in white flowering plants, surrounded by dense greenery and mature trees. Behind the wall, a mix of shrubs and palm-like plants add texture to the landscape, while rolling hills and a distinct, gently sloping mountain rise in the distance under a clear blue sky with a few light clouds. The scene is calm and rural, with natural colours dominated by greens and greys, reflecting a quiet countryside setting.

Yesterday afternoon, I went for a walk on the Crozon Peninsula, visiting in particular the Rostellec ship #graveyard.
I tend to focus on looking for details: old wood, metal, but also very much living seaweed.
