These are dark times. From war and occupation abroad to anarchist comrades here being punished for resisting the war on migrants, the message is clear: the state wants to make examples of people.

In the #Prairieland case, they’re basically criminalizing solidarity and even fucking zines.

What gets us through this shit is solidarity. Real, material solidarity.

This is terrible news. These are draconian punishments typical of a dictatorial regime. The Antifas charged in #Prairieland were sentenced to decades in prison. But they won’t be able to stop #Antifa this way!

Guys, they sentenced one of the Prairieland protestors to a HUNDRED YEARS in federal prison. Others got 50-70 YEARS.

The longest J6 sentence was 22 years, by comparison. This is a huge threat to everyone’s ‘freedom of speech.’ What a fucking nightmare. #antifa #prairieland #law

I want to write hopeful things
I want to make believe
A wish came and tickled my nose as I bathed
In Sunshine, in the form of a single dandelion seed.
I found a baby bird feather that I treasure,
like memories of tasting what it means to be free.
I watch the spiders in the windows
as they too, weave.
I daydream and make believe because it's
One of the few things they cannot thieve.
I grieve because I have loved and somewhere
out there my community loves me, I must believe.
I breathe and wait for a release for all my
siblings taken because as surely as my heart beats -
this invisible hope is the closest thing to an
embrace that keeps me from losing faith.
This medicine, this salve that saves me from heartbreak.
A bravery they cannot replicate
carried in my blood that no amount of their hate
will ever, ever eradicate.
A song, a memory, a manifestation
sun, moon, stars, and wind every time that I blink,
in this windowless room, behind a full metal door, locked with key.
When they seem to have taken everything, still - I think -
and somehow it nourishes just to play make believe.
While I wait for me and my friends to be free.

If you search the names of the #prairieland people the first results are awful mugshots. Honestly they all need the #luigi treatment. There needs to be massive amounts of fan art made with their faces. This is one of the only routes they might get their freedom back and not live out the rest of their lives behind bars. Public pressure works.

"After a three-week trial, a jury found eight of nine protesters guilty of “providing material support to terrorists”, among other crimes. For the Sotos, this “material support” included owning a “printing press” used to print anarchist zines and being part of a leftist book club, the federal government argued. The couple had already left the scene by the time guns were drawn. All eight of the defendants sentenced so far have received unusually harsh sentences – 30 to 100 years – essentially life in prison."

The #Prairieland defendants are now political prisoners and if you truck with politicians at all, promising to pardon every one of them is the entry to being taken seriously as standing with people opposing the ongoing murderous #ICE invasion of the US.
