下饭时候又双叒叕看了一遍「社交网络」,这片子竟然已经过去 15 年之久了……还是 give me chills.

#watching #reading

No. She argues that rational self‑interest forbids coercion, exploitation, and parasitism. Predators aren’t “selfish”—they’re short‑range, self‑destructive, and irrational.

❌ “It’s just an excuse to do whatever you want.”

She draws a hard boundary between whim and #reason. Her ethics demands long‑range thinking, integrity, and principled action — the opposite of impulse.

❌ “#Objectivism celebrates cruelty.”

The introduction explicitly rejects cruelty as irrational. Benevolence is not only compatible with #egoism—it’s a natural expression of a rational, confident person.

❌ “Rand denies moral principles.”

After nearly doubling my 2025 reading goal of 40 books, I decided not to set a goal for 2026 as far as a number of books or pages. I'd rather focus on quality (or at least enjoyment) over quantity.

That being said, I am going to try to read every day and to finish at least one non-fiction book per month. You know, to grow or whatever.

Read so far in 2026, as of March 1st:
22 books totaling 10,526 pages

Average time to finish: 5 days

#reading #books #bookstodon #StoryGraph

Reading in the Park - City of Chicago by Frank J Casella. Great summer weather and quiet nature brings people out to Millennium park in Chicago, Illinois. It's important in life to have balance and to do some reading so that we may grow our knowledge and prosper our life in this world. https://pixels.com/featured/reading-in-the-park-city-of-chicago-frank-j-casella.html

#chicago #reading #recreation #people #squareFormat #photography #fjcasellaphoto #fineart #fineartamerica
