March Blizzard - kind of what it looks like here today. Weather said 6 inches, but we've at about 18 inches and still snowing. No power and quite the unusual weather for November. So many great memories, so much to reflect. I began doing serious snowshoeing in the mountains around the peak of the pandemic (winter 2020/2021) when I needed to get outside. Let it snow! ❄️I have added snow to my instance during the winter holidays. It's a tiny JS canvas and fades out on scroll down. Ice Fishing - another thing I love about Winter, watching it snow. We met a group of people in the afternoon setting out to ice fish on the lake that is now frozen all the way across. By 5:30 pm, they were still there and had lit a fire to keep warm. Warm boots, lined with fur. A thorough cleaning and <a href="/tags/polish/" rel="tag">#polish</a> keeps them good as new. Good for running from enemies. And demons.Demons aren't enemies, exactly. They don't hate you or want to kill you, merely drag you to hell and steal your soul. Sometimes they just give you the slightest push towards evil, sufficient to get you to do that thing that you shouldn't.I don't mean something naughty, but something really bad: punch that irritating fellow. Steal those warm boots that were your neighbour's only pair, leaving her stranded at home when there's snow on the ground.But if you have warm boots, as I was saying, you can run from the demon and avoid the trap. Of course, if you had to steal the boots to begin with, you've already lost, I suppose. I love wandering around with my camera and flash when it snows. Captures the snowflakes so well. A frozen, white water bubble on frozen water. It looks like a white jellyfish. The bottom of the water can be seen through and around it. Stones and leaves lie there.

The same motif, now from a greater distance. The white bubble, which really looks like a jellyfish, swims in the centre of the photo. Two more small bubbles can be seen at the top left of the picture. The ground beneath the frozen water is rocky, with some leaves lying there too.

By 5:30 pm, the people we met in the afternoon were still there and had lit a fire to keep warm during an ice fishing excursion. Did some back of the envelope math and I'm guessing we've moved several tons of snow after this last storm clearing the two driveways and a path to the propane tanks. All with various forms of shovel. No wonder I'm tired. (10 feet x 20 feet x 1 foot deep x 10 pounds per cubic foot = 2,000 pounds = 1 ton, and that's only the short driveway) <a href="/tags/maine/" rel="tag">#Maine</a> <a href="/tags/winter/" rel="tag">#winter</a>
