小山宙哉の大ヒットコミック「宇宙兄弟」を、原作者・小山が自ら書き下ろしたオリジナル脚本でアニメーション映画化。南波兄弟よりも先に兄弟で月に降り立つことを夢見たジェイ兄弟との交流と別れを描き、南波兄弟が宇宙を目指す本当の理由が明かされる。幼い頃から宇宙飛行士を夢見てきた南波日々人は、ブライアン・ジェイが搭乗する月面着陸ロケットのバックアップクルーに抜てきされる。しかし、ブライアンが地球着陸時の事故で帰らぬ人となったため、NASAは宇宙開発の有人ミッションを見直すことに。一方、宇宙への夢をかなえつつある日々人と対照的な暮らしを送る兄・六太は、勤め先の自動車会社から田舎への出向を命じられてしまう。監督に渡辺歩、アニメーション制作にA-1 Picturesとテレビアニメ版を手がけたスタッフが集結。

A prequel story set seven years before the beginning of the Re:ZERO series. Emilia lives in a secluded forest covered in snow with the spirit Puck. One day, however, her peaceful life is disrupted when the Great Spirit of Fire Melakuera decides to lay his judgment upon her.

Despite completing all the tasks given to them, Ainz Ooal Gown, Tanya Degurechaff, Kazuma Satou, Subaru Natsuki, and the other members of Class 2 are surprised to find out that their role as students is far from over. With no means of returning home, the class of eccentric personalities is still mysteriously stuck in the unfamiliar world. Although, as they are becoming quite fond of each other, spending more time together does not sound that bad.

First-year high schooler Midori Asakusa loves anime so much, she insists that "concept is everything" in animation. While she spends her time doodling endless ideas and settings in her sketchbook, she hasn't taken the first step to creating anime, insisting that she can't do it alone. After Asakusa's money-loving best friend Sayaka Kanamori notices her genius and drive – and when it becomes clear that their classmate and charismatic fashion model Tsubame Mizusaki wants to be an animator – the energetic trio start an animation club. Because it was no longer possible to live a normal life on this planet, the inhabitants are forced to move on to other planets where life will, hopefully, be more comfortable.
