歐洲導演喜歡把人生以美食作比喻, 例子包括了《情濃朱古力》(Como Aqua para Chocolate)及希臘小品《情尋色香味》(Politiki Kouzina). 今次就用了「脆麵糰」(心型脆餅, 上面灑滿濃香芝麻那種, 你會在大部份牛油曲奇禮盒中找到的). 到底要選這個呢? 更重要人生跟「脆麵糰」又有甚麼相似呢? 不如先解答這個問題. 「脆麵糰」本來是由麵粉變出來, 人生亦一樣. 人不是生出來, 便懂得一切事. 而「烘焙過程」比喻的是「成長」. 成長是變化無常的, 正如未完成烘焙的脆麵糰一樣, 也是未定型. 袛是年少無知, 急於求功利. 一如戲中的戈倫甚麼都想一步登天, 袛是時間和機遇全不配合, 縱他再花多一點時候, 仍是得不到好結果. 他袛會一次又一次的撲空.
戈倫對愛情的態度亦相當有問題, 也許他的案例猶如一般男性的想法. 最好別令自己煩惱, 又能得到更多的選擇. 有了絲嘉莉, 最好同時可抱緊姬拉, 偷想一下柯德莉也好. 他們最怕就是女方要求他們作承諾, 因為一旦說了, 怕令自己損失. 提出分手時亦相當兒戲, 以為這樣傷害的是對方, 其實傷害得最深的反而是他自己. 原因是他袛是一時意氣用事而已, 可能根本不是跟她合不來, 惜一旦提出了, 就難再收回來. 故此, 戈倫最終給好友斥責一場.
爸爸也看不起了他, 情願呆在家裡, 也不找工作去. 袛是若戈倫的心態不改, 爸爸再摧促他, 他還是沒工作可做, 因為他的心裡袛顧「理想」兩字, 而這非他能操控的.
編劇道出二十出頭, 離開校園不久的待業青年的心態. 他們總是想儘快有成就, 卻又不明白社會並不如他們心中所想. 再且, 他更想告訴大家應認真的對待愛情, 因為它不是一場遊戲.
坦白說: 筆者認為它反映了二十出頭的心態, 而這種情況放在哪個城市都說得通, 故才會引人入勝. 這亦令它更見魅力.
