The Overwatch Cinematic Trailer is an animated short shown at Blizzcon 2014. It was the first piece of Overwatch media released to the public.

動画配信サイトniconicoの運営で知られる株式会社ドワンゴと、「ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版」を手がける株式会社カラーが、10月26日から短編映像企画「日本アニメ（ーター）見本市」を始動した。

本企画はさまざまなディレクター陣が製作するオムニバスアニメーションを、毎週金曜日に1話ずつ配信していくというもの。オリジナル、スピンオフ、プロモーション映像、MusicPVなど、配信作品の種類は問わず、表現の規制のない“自由な創作の場”の提供を主眼とする。

企画立案は「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン」や「ふしぎの海のナディア」で知られるアニメ監督の庵野秀明によるもので、制作としてスタジオカラー、声ノ出演として声優の山寺宏一と林原めぐみが名を連ねている。ロゴ題字は「風の谷のナウシカ」で知られる宮﨑駿、題字彩色はスタジオジブリ代表取締役の鈴木敏夫が担当した。

配信第1弾作品は、小説家の舞城王太郎が監督を務める「龍の歯医者」で、OVA「フリクリ」の監督で知られる鶴巻和哉もアニメーション監督として製作に携わる。配信開始は11月7日を予定しており、公式サイトと公式アプリから無料で視聴可能だ。また、11月10日の22:00から23:00にかけて配信予定のニコニコ生放送『「日本アニメ（－ター）見本市」-同トレス‐ ♯1「龍の歯医者」制作秘話に迫る！』でも上映され、鶴巻のほかアニメーターの亀田祥倫、アニメ評論家の氷川竜介らをゲストに招いてのトークも行われる。
