心》之后再度合作的作品，由角川Games社长安田善巳担任执行制作，Grasshopper Manufacture执行长须田刚一担任执行总监。[3]
《杀手已死》中“塑造一个全新的英雄形象”。同时游戏继承《杀手7》与《英雄不再》的风格，并创造出一个全新的与杀手有关的故事。
在距现在不远的未来，人类已经可以在月球生活，同时还可以借助科技来重新改造我们的身体，主人公 Mondo Zappa 在某一天收到了神秘组织 “The Execution Office.（处刑秘社）”的雇佣邀请函，于是游戏开始了。
