<p>These days, if a news article about an extreme weather event fails to mention climate change, I close it without reading.</p><p>It&#x27;s a very simple and straightforward process to me: year 2025 ---&gt; page search ---&gt; no matches on &quot;climate&quot; ---&gt; trash can.</p><p>It&#x27;d be even nicer if such articles mentioned the fossil fuels connection every time, but that&#x27;s too much to expect from the legacy media, I know. But progress on climate action has stagnated in recent years, global GHG emissions are yet to peak, and our remaining carbon budget is dwindling.</p><p>Above 1.5°C of warming, we risk passing critical tipping points in natural Earth systems, triggering self-perpetuating changes that could shift the planet out of the habitable zone for humanity and for life as we know it.
