The amount of bad news that I could be sharing with you, if I chose to, is much greater than what you actually see here on my page. Every day I have to filter through all the items I find, looking for those that seem to me the most relevant and most important for readers to know, not simply those that are the most alarming or most sensationalist.
I’m not trying to scare people — well, maybe I am trying to scare people — but the point is not simply for you to be frightened, but to take action in the face of a looming disaster.

In 2025, Newport Folk Festival expects 20% of attendees to arrive by bike. That increase is due in large part to indie-rock duo Illiterate Light and their bike-powered stage—and in 2025, #IlliterateLight's #RoadToNewport ride, starting July 7 in #HarrisonburgVirginia, continuing through #BaltimoreMaryland July 13, #AsburyParkNewJersey July 18, reaching #NewportRhodeIsland July 25. Bike valet by Bike Newport is provided at the festival.
Illiterate Light fans can follow their 600-mile route and attend live shows along the way (as well as at Newport).

Coal power is finally retreating in the world’s two largest markets. For the first time since 1973, both China and India saw coal generation drop in 2025 thanks to a relentless clean energy boom. We are witnessing the beginning of the end for the coal era.

Yesterday we held a colorful tree-planting program in the Lunnya the small town Together with pupils from Lwamata Primary School in Lunnya, we walked through the the community carrying tree seedlings to the planting site. Along the way, many people joined and learned about our mission. Even those who didn’t know us before came to understand our work to protect the environment, fight climate change, and secure a better future through actions like tree planting.

I’m Senono Steven, an environmental activist from Uganda committed to protecting our planet and building a healthier, greener future for everyone.
My work is driven by a simple belief: environmental protection is not only about nature—it is about people, communities, health, livelihoods, and the future generations who will inherit the world we leave behind.
I use my voice, knowledge, and actions to raise awareness about climate change, environmental conservation, pollution, waste management, biodiversity, tree planting, sustainable living, and the importance of protecting our natural resources.
I believe meaningful change starts with individuals and grows through communities. That is why I encourage young people and everyone around me to take practical action, share environmental knowledge, care for their surroundings, and become part of solutions rather than remaining silent about environmental challenges.
My mission is to inspire environmental responsibility, promote sustainable practices, support conservation, and encourage communities to protect the ecosystems that sustain us.
My vision is a Uganda—and a world—where people and nature can thrive together, where clean air and water are valued, forests and biodiversity are protected, and future generations can enjoy a safe and sustainable planet.
I’m here to learn, connect, educate, collaborate, and turn environmental concern into action. Every tree planted, every piece of waste properly managed, every person inspired, and every positive conversation can contribute to a bigger change.
Protect nature. Inspire action. Build a sustainable future.
