Hey Fedi, any recommandations for interesting places to check in Bilbao? I’m staying there for the week and want to explore the city a bit.
Places I’m the most interested in include queer spaces (especially lesbian ones), second hand book shops, goth clubs and thrift stores and places that serve vegetarian food. But feel free to recommend me anything you like!

Today in Labor History April 26, 1937: The Nazis and Italian fascists bombed Guernica, a town in the Basque region of Spain, at the request of Spanish fascist leader, Francisco Franco. Later that year, Picasso painted his famous painting, Guernica, in protest of the atrocity. This was during the Spanish Civil War. The Republicans, a coalition of anarchist, socialist and communist partisans, were fighting the fascists, led by Franco. They bombed Guernica for two hours, killing between 1,000 and 3,000 civilians, or 20-60% of the population.
Some of the most unforgettable images from the Guernica painting include dismembered bodies, a weeping woman, and a dead baby, images that we’ve seen repeated so often in the current Israeli genocide on Palestine. In December 2023, not long after the Genocide in Gaza began, the people of Guernica, dressed in red, black, white and green, formed a human mosaic of the Palestinian flag incorporated into an image from Picasso’s Guernica, while sirens blared in the background. If you go to almost any town in the Basque Country today, you’ll see lots of Palestinian flags hanging from apartment windows, in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

¡¡Hoy es el día!! Os presento el juego de rol al que he dedicado mi tiempo, ilusión y risas durante esta última semana... #HeroiBide ("el camino del héroe): un juego de baja fantasía ambientado en "la Euskadi Mítica" del s.XV (más o menos... no esperéis fidelidad histórica).
«HeroiBide es un juego en el que unos aventureros vascos pueden descender a toda velocidad por el monte Amboto montados en una goitibera, makila en mano, para cargar contra un herensuge e intentar ganarse una txapela en la que ponga bordado: "matadragones".»
La seriedad no es el fuerte de este juego, pero y las imágenes que evoca... 🤣
En vez de maquetarlo en un libro de digamos 16 páginas A5, he optado por convertirlo en una baraja de 45 naipes de 61.5x95mm (irónico, eh? Un juego de vascos en forma de baraja española 😜).
...y ya para terminar por hoy: HeroiBide está basado en el sistema "The Dream Teller", que desarrollé hace años para el reto #Rol2K ...que después perdí 😅 y que he reescrito (y mejorado) el sábado pasado. Es un sistema minimalista, marcadamente narrativo y muy ágil, pensado para centrar todo el foco en los PJ.
