St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, featuring the magnificent St. Peter's Baldachin. The massive, four-story bronze canopy was designed by the famous Baroque master architect and sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Commissioned by Pope Urban VIII, it took over a decade to complete between 1623 and 1634. It stands directly beneath the main dome, positioning itself directly over the High Altar and marking the sacred burial site of Saint Peter the Apostle.🇻🇦
