Orange bench outside a boarded-up Heikintori shopping centre, with a planter and streetlamp on a paved plaza.

Red looped square symbols on the outer wall of Heikintori shopping centre above graffiti-covered plywood, with autumn leaves and shadows casted by trees.

Graffiti-covered curved glass façade viewed from below against a vivid blue sky.

The outer wall of a boarded-up Heikintori shopping centre with graffiti, red looped square signs and a Finnish taxi traffic sign on a sunny urban street.

A close-up of a stairwell to Heikintori shopping centre's parking hall. A weathered structure with turquoise metal widow frames, plywood covered graffiti clad windows and tagged concrete wall.

Busts

#Art #MonochromeMonday #Photography

A close-up, black-and-white photograph focusing on the detailed stone-carved faces of two classical Roman busts.

A bearded male bust is shown in sharp focus. The sculpture features deeply carved curls in the hair and beard.

Positioned further back and to the right, a second similar bearded bust appears softly out of focus, creating a sense of depth.

'Typical for my place of residence / my hometown'

"Els Gegants d'Olot"
[Olot, Girona, Catalonia, Spain]

The photograph shows a pair of giants – "Els Gegants d'Olot" – during a festive parade in the city of Olot. Both were created in the 19th century by two eminent artists, Miquel Blay and Celestí Devesa. Over the years, several minor modifications have been made to their appearance, and new materials have allowed them to be lighter, making it easier for the person carrying them to participate in the parade and dance. They are a typical and representative symbol of the city, which has a long history of mass-producing religious sculptures.
