Thousands of Oystercatchers taking flight.
From RSPB Snettisham's Spring Tide event a few weekends ago. Early start, but so worth seeing thousands and thousands of birds flying over the sea and land.

Either a female or juvenile Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus). I caught this Eurasian Sparrowhawk through my kitchen window visiting my garden to have a spot of lunch on a Pidgeon it had selected from the menu. By the time I saw it, it had pretty much devoured all of its prey, bones and all.

Watermelon
We grew a few watermelons in the backyard this summer. We were only able to harvest one out of the four that grew from the fine. Two were eaten by chipmunks while still little and one broke open while it was still on the vine.
I guess we let that one sit on the vine too long because it cracked right down the middle in a cool spiral design.
I took the cracked watermelon and b…

No.1 - Abstract photography
After wandering for quite some time, it seems I have found my place in the vast world of photography. This is where I feel at ease; this is where I want to linger.

“Into limbo”
An ethereal memory of an unforgettable August 2002, spent walking across Corsica from north to south, on the fabulous (but difficult) GR20 hiking trail.

So now you'd better stop
And rebuild all your ruins
For peace and trust can win the day
Despite of all your losing

So there is this monastery in Lower Austria called Altenburg which is a big baroque building. Some pics have already posted. But under the monastery is the medieval origins you can visit. It's a great experience.
Camera: Leica Q2
Edit: none.

European garden spider (Araneus diadematus), this was lurking outside my back door on its web. It was too windy to try a stack, so I tried a few high speed bursts. These are probably the best out of the bunch. I thought I would post them anyway. I tried shooting underneath against the sky, but couldn't quite capture the head as I wanted. The other image is looking down on its back.

![The image displays a monochromatic photograph of an ancient stone statue. The sculpture is crafted in the form of what appears to be a child, with rounded shoulders and hips, standing on two legs. Its head is slightly tilted downwards towards its torso, and it has protruding ears that seem large for the body size. There are visible marks or texturing across different parts of the figure's surface, indicating wear over time or intentional design features.
The statue stands against a plain background which contrasts with the rough texture of the stone sculpture itself. The photograph captures details such as cracks and patches on its surface, suggesting age and exposure to elements. Notably, there are circular indentations in what seems like an armrest area near one side of the figure's body, possibly for functional or aesthetic reasons.
The image is labeled with a title that suggests it may be part of a collection or exhibition focused on stone sculptures from Mexico dated 1960 as mentioned. However, without further context provided within this single image, additional specifics about the sculpture’s provenance, significance in Mexican culture, and its exact historical period remain undefined based solely on visual information.
This statue is not to be confused with other works by Ed van der Elsken from his travels around Asia or Mexico where he documented street scenes [...]](/proxy/post_attachment/401139/606910ba97.jpeg "The image displays a monochromatic photograph of an ancient stone statue.
