The Linux project continues.

Bonus learning: you'd think older machines would struggle, but I've seen no post-install h/w issues on my 13-year-old MacBook Pro: wifi, bluetooth, ethernet, screen, touchpad, keyboard, speakers...

I suspect age is a benefit to a point, the Linux community having had more time to solve things, subverting Apple's planned obsolescence and urge to sell more regardless of environmental impact.

Looking down a paved farm country sideroad in mid-October, the sky a bright blue with low cumulus backing the orange, yellow and red maples lining our route. As always, a few lonely telephone poles complete the picture, along with a foreground drive to some homestead just out of view on what in a few months will be tundra out this way - just northwest of Stratford, southwest Ontario.

A dense cluster of fungi growing on a rotting tree stump in a forest during autumn. The mushrooms are growing in layered, overlapping groups. Their caps vary in color, transitioning from a light yellowish-tan or golden-brown at the edges and in the center of the younger, upper mushrooms, to a darker, rich brown in the larger, more mature specimens below.

Many caps exhibit a slight concentric ring pattern or a change in color towards the center. They have a generally convex to flattened shape and appear smooth and somewhat moist or velvety.

The fungi are attached to a dark, textured wood surface, which is the tree material they are feeding on. The surrounding area is the forest floor, scattered with leaf litter in various shades of brown and yellow.

🍓Move over James & The Giant Peach, this is Janine & The Oversized Strawberry!

Languishing in a disused field in #Poland this sun-faded behemoth fruit was once a kind of roadside attraction for a large strawberry farm. The owner clearly had some quirky marketing ideas. The farm closed long ago, but this sad-looking giant strawberry lies forgotten in a weed-choked field.

Also, does anyone else think this has some serious #Fallout vibes?

Last August my partner and I did one of the most incredible backpacking trips back to back, hiking more than 130km in 6 days (two of which were rest days) through the #CanadianRockies

This frame was from on our rest days when we did a small hike to a nearby meadow to enjoy the panoramic views of the #Mountains
