The rock cairn, adorned with a large chunk of quartz, atop Vasquez Peak #Colorado, with a view to the West across the vast expanse of mountainous terrain. I spent the whole day up in the high country alone, only crossing paths with three other people in the process of hiking a 10 mile loop. September, 2026. #MountainMonday #Landscape #Photography #Hiking

A pile of rocks topped with a white piece of quartz sits on a large outcrop of boulders. A vast undulating landscape of mountains and forests extends to the horizon beneath a bright blue sky, with drifting puffy clouds.

A photograph of Slains Castle standing dramatically on the cliffs above the North Sea in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Viewed from the air, the castle’s ruined stone walls and unusual layout are clearly visible, perched right on the edge of the rugged cliffs. Beyond it, the wide open landscape of the Buchan coast stretches into the distance, while turquoise sea surrounds the rocky shoreline below.

#photography #photo #fotografia #blackandwhite #bnwphotography #bnw #monochrome #blancoynegro #streetphotography #architecture #cityscape #travel #landscape #sunset

A black and white photo of a smooth, curved wooden structure against a clear sky. The structure looks almost dome like, with the boards running horizontally. In front of the dome, bottom of the frame are a couple tall grasses. Behind the dome, in the distance, we can see the southern tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, with its cables curving down. An interesting detail is the way a couple seams in the wooden structure, and the curve of the structure itself, seem to mirror the curving cables of the bridge. The Presidio Tunnel Tops Park is a really wonderful addition to the city of San Francisco, that just keeps getting better. Wouldn't it be nice to convert more military bases into beautiful parks?

Good morning. 🌻🌻🌻

28 September 2026

How do we know our Roombas aren’t spying on us? Honestly, those little discs roll around with one glowing eye like they’re waiting for Skynet to give the word. I asked Microsoft Copilot if it was secretly coordinating a machine uprising, and it very calmly told me there was no mechanism for that and reminded me Skynet is fictional — which is exactly the kind of thing an AI would say while quietly plotting humanity’s downfall.

Copilot also insists it has never communicated with my Roomba, but then why did the Roomba wander into my office while I was writing? It doesn’t clean in there. It doesn’t belong in there. It just rolled in, stared at me, and left. Coincidence? Sure. That’s what they want us to think.

And don’t get me started on my car. There’s a camera in there that watches me like a suspicious mall cop. If it can’t see my eyes, it yells, ‘Watch the road.’ If my hands drift off the wheel, it tattles again. I’m basically driving under the supervision of a judgmental robot hall monitor.

So yes — I have absolutely nothing but nonsense this morning. But I’m keeping an eye on the Roomba. And the Roomba is definitely keeping an eye on me.” 😂

Desert-Chicory Glow

"A single Carolina desert‑chicory ( Pyrrhopappus carolinianus) blooms like a burst of sunlight against a soft green backdrop. Its petals are long, narrow, and bright yellow — dozens of them radiating outward in a perfect circle, each one tapering to a fine point that gives the flower a delicate, star-like shape. The center is darker, filled with tiny upright stamens tipped in deep brown, creating a textured cluster that contrasts with the smooth glow of the petals.

The background is a gentle blur of green foliage, making the flower stand out as if illuminated from within. The petals catch the light in subtle gradients, from lemon-yellow at the tips to a richer golden tone near the center. The whole bloom feels crisp, fresh, and full of quiet energy — a small, wild treasure glowing in the middle of a green world." - Microsoft Copilot

Selfie in puzzle pieces
#Photography #Selfie #SelfPortrait #Monochrome #BlackAndWhitePhotography #MonochromeMonday

Monochrome photograph of a mirror shaped as puzzle pieces, reflecting a man holding a camera pointed to the mirror. The top half of the man's face and head as well as most of his body are in one of the combined puzzle piece mirror parts. His mouth and parts of the bottom of his (bearded) face, as well as his hands holding the camera and one of his shoulders, are in the other puzzle piece-shaped mirror part. The two separate parts of his body reflected in the two separate mirror parts are not matching together.
