I wouldn’t classify myself as a huge fan of SIGUR ROS.
In fact, this record is the only one of theirs I’ve ever liked.
I have great memories of this album from my time living and working in NYC, especially in 2000.
Riding on the subway with this in my ears, walking to work in Times Square in the rain, drunk in the back of cabs whilst trying to work my way back to Brooklyn at 4am from whatever horrible party.
Back then, living in NYC WAS like being at a horrible late night party. You’re nauseous, sick to your stomach, you’ve had a headache since you’ve gotten there… but you don’t want to leave, because you’re afraid you’ll miss the party.
No other album from that time apart from Mogwai’s Come On Die Young is more representative of my time there.

Everyone always talks about Elvira all October, but what about the woman behind the original big titty goth girlfriend of our dreams, Cassandra Peterson? 
This is why we're celebrating #NoViraNovember, a new movie "holiday" where we only watch movies with Cassandra credited as a character that isn't Elvira. Here's the lineup:
★ Pee-wee's Big Adventure - Tim Burton's directorial debut and an epic collaboration of two members of The Groundlings, this movie is an all time whimsical classic! 
★ Balboa - A mostly forgotten made for TV film with an extremely limited physical release. There are rumors the home release has added nudity?!? So we tracked down a VHS copy as it doesn't seem to be archived online! 
★ Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold - This movie was the sequel to King Solomon's Mines and was filmed back-to-back! While the first movie was a major success, this one is a classic 80's box office bomb. 
★ The Working Girls - Cassandra Peterson's first credited role! This rare sexploitation film directed by a woman has been lauded for its feminist themes. And yes, this is that film. You know, the one where you see Cassandra's uncensored naked titties. 
★ All About Evil - One of Cassandra's rare horror outings outside of the Elviraverse, this black comedy slasher film is sure to leave you rolling on the floor! One way or another... 
This epic lineup includes films from Scarecrow Video, one of the largest video stores left in the United States, and a physical media heaven worthy of support. Hope to see y'all there!

Many, many people listening to the Rocky Horror Picture show soundtrack, as they should.
Time Square, I'm told, is not a good movie. However, the soundtrack is an incredible time capsule of that period. And features Tim Curry's "night DJ", Johnny LaGuardia - a role in which he filmed all his scenes in two days. #music #physicalMedia #vinyl
