I wouldnât classify myself as a huge fan of SIGUR ROS.
In fact, this record is the only one of theirs Iâve ever liked.
I have great memories of this album from my time living and working in NYC, especially in 2000.
Riding on the subway with this in my ears, walking to work in Times Square in the rain, drunk in the back of cabs whilst trying to work my way back to Brooklyn at 4am from whatever horrible party.
Back then, living in NYC WAS like being at a horrible late night party. Youâre nauseous, sick to your stomach, youâve had a headache since youâve gotten there⌠but you donât want to leave, because youâre afraid youâll miss the party.
No other album from that time apart from Mogwaiâs Come On Die Young is more representative of my time there.
