Seeing ads for the new HP branded sewing machine are so fucking infuriating
You want to pop culture brand a sewing machine? Give me a Picard 'Make it Sew" machine not an opportunity to give more money to that anti-trans crusader

Finished the hand embroidery — for a person who doesn’t do a lot of hand embroidery, I’m okay with it
Not sure whether/how I’m going to quilt this. I kind of want it to be more squishy when finished, with that karate chop decorator look to the pillow. Quilting gives it too much body, but maybe I can find a softer batting than I normally use
Not sure how I’m even writing this post, because I am literally bouncing up and down in absolute glee at how well this quilt top is coming together. I mean look how perfectly Laika fit next to Tereshkova!
Sally Ride is up next 🚀
I posted about the Quilted Survivance show recently, but this is a different take that provides a lot more historical information about Indigenous Diné quilting culture (plus more pictures)
There was a dreaded Y-seam on the Liu Yang block, but I made it thru 😅
Because the next astronaut has something in her hand, I can’t fully piece Yang’s leg section; it’ll hopefully be finished soon tho
Anticipating this top will be done Sat/Sun time frame 🤞🏻
#InarticulateAstroFirsts quilt top is finished! You might have to click to see it in full - it’s almost 90 inches long
I’ve got a lot of seams still to press flat; we’ve got a storm coming in and the humidity is wreaking havoc on them. But it’s going to be a great wall hanging when quilted!
Here’s the draft pattern of the Women of #StarTrek quilt you all helped me gather names for earlier this year 🙏🏻
The colors aren’t quite right in the picture, but the fabrics will (hopefully) be much more accurate. Some words may change as I work on it, too
It’s going to require so much machine embroidery! But what really scares me are the 3.5” curves on the color bars 😬 Still, I think I’m up for the challenge and I’m really looking forward to starting next year
I just realized the last time I had proper photos of my finished quilts printed was 2012!
I’ve been relying on my blog to keep a record but I’m starting not to trust that’ll always be there
Going to need to print over 162 pics
Triple threat! (1) A graphic novel (2) that’s a mystery about (3) quilting - guess what’s going on my TBR list?
If you need to promote a quilt exhibit in a smaller community like #Pasadena (CA), this is the way to write about it - a fairly thorough look at the history of Black quilting in America to ground the viewer before they go
Stories, Traditions & Designs: Spotlighting the African American Quilters of #LosAngeles is at the Pasadena Museum of History through February 22, 2026
