"vibe coding is just talking to machines, imperative programming is *using the Voice* on them".

I'm starting to really like 'vibe coding'...

I've now had several clients come to me to take over projects that another agency was working on because the other agency started using generative AI. Apparently there was a real drop in product quality. I wonder why.

Basically vibe coding is making me money specifically because I'm not using it.

I watched someone "vibe code" for an hour and now I think "slot machine coding" is a more appropriate name. "Let us pull the lever again and see if the code gets better with this prompt."

Gave AI agentic vibe coding a shot and it didn't go well. 😞 (I'll reframe from saying which platform.)

I asked it to make me a perfect Kombucha-like beverage. The vibe agent said no problem! It just required full control of my PC, my bio-chem assembler and bank account (with sum limits).

Cool beans I thought! I LOVE me a good Kombucha, and gave it full access. I went out to buy some paper towels and came back to this!

I noticed 2 or 3 people lately using AI coding tools to create Fediverse software.

2 of them even seemed to be Vibe Coding.

I have been programming for over 30 years. I am probably not going to Vibe Code, but —

I wonder if we should help them.

There are tools we (Fediverse developers) could create to make it so others could Vibe Code Fediverse apps.

I just began an #AMLD repository.
It is a template for Agent-Mediated #LiterateDevelopment methodology.

In a nutshell:
Design documentation and project management should be *on trunk* (or main branch) and must be enough to regenerate everything that has been previously generated with an #AI coding agent. It should be written for humans, except for a log of previously followed plans referenced by closed tickets.

IE the docs are code.

This is not #VibeCoding; this is literate.
