Apart from being one of the main architects of postwar, Southern California he, with one sentence, changed the world </p><p>As supervisor of <a href="/tags/lacounty/" rel="tag">#LACounty</a> he had the largest block of constituents South of San Francisco. And he got them behind the aqueduct with the addition of a lake </p><p>"LA will get behind this if we get a lake* out of the bargain"</p><p>And that is a trait that we all have to one degree or another in my family... But the slander he had to endure that ended his Los Angeles service reduced it to The Warren M Dorn recreation center instead </p><p>Somewhere I have an "86 LA times article from the front of the metro section where they begrudgingly admit to his contribution to the aqueduct but I just spent some time looking for it unsuccessfully</p>
