<p>What happened to Renee Nicole Good is not an anomaly or a rare phenomenon. </p><p>The only unusual factor is that she was white.</p><p>A Black man named Keith Porter was shot &amp; killed by ICE on New Year’s Eve.</p><p>Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body. She survived but has a hole in her arm forever.</p><p>Silverio Villegas González was shot dead in Franklin Park Illinois when he panicked and tried to run.</p><p>Then there’s the more than 30 people who’ve died in the camps.</p><p>No accountability. No punishment. </p><p>Keep speaking out. <p>As a <a href="/tags/medical/" rel="tag">#medical</a> professional and former <a href="/tags/emt/" rel="tag">#EMT</a> this is gravely concerning. <a href="/tags/portland/" rel="tag">#Portland</a> <a href="/tags/ice/" rel="tag">#ICE</a> agents threatened to shoot and arrest <a href="/tags/paramedics/" rel="tag">#paramedics</a> trying to leave the ICE facility with a patient. Agents intentionally stood in front of the <a href="/tags/ambulance/" rel="tag">#ambulance</a> preventing departure. When the <a href="/tags/paramedic/" rel="tag">#paramedic</a> put the ambulance in park and released the brake, it lurched forward an inch. Federal agents stormed the ambulance screaming at the crew. In addition to the verbal <a href="/tags/threats/" rel="tag">#threats</a>, an unmarked state vehicle followed the ambulance to the <a href="/tags/hospital/" rel="tag">#hospital</a>.</p><p>ICE is now <a href="/tags/aggressive/" rel="tag">#aggressive</a> to medical professionals. There is no going back once crossing this line. It&#x27;s not a mistake and it&#x27;s unforgivable. But, even worse, they have been going along for many decades. I know I keep bringing up Zinn&#x27;s People&#x27;s History and I&#x27;m going to continue because he details this over and over in the book. Others have as well. The US media system has, as a rule, gone along with the establishment for decades. Every US foreign aggression, and foreign policy in general, gets approval from establishment media. Most domestic news is covered with a persistent lack of critique of the long running establishment, the capitalist class.</p><p>The linked essay is great except in its pretending that the <a href="/tags/resistance/" rel="tag">#resistance</a> to <a href="/tags/fascism/" rel="tag">#fascism</a> is a defense of <a href="/tags/democracy/" rel="tag">#democracy</a>. No, it&#x27;s opposition to overt fascism. But the framework of any <a href="/tags/liberal/" rel="tag">#liberal</a> world view, even <a href="/tags/progressive/" rel="tag">#progressive</a>, that describes the previous norm as <a href="/tags/democratic/" rel="tag">#democratic</a> is a failure. Establishment government is corporatism, an illusion meant to capture our energy and dissuade us from real <a href="/tags/struggle/" rel="tag">#struggle</a>. <br><a href="/tags/capitalism/" rel="tag">#capitalism</a> <a href="/tags/classwar/" rel="tag">#classwar</a></p>
