Grundsätzlich gefällt mir das Album, jedoch fehlt mir ein wenig der klassische Arcade-Sound, den #TokyoMachine sonst bisher so extrem verwendet hat. Einige Arcade-Parts gibt es, aber es dürfte gerne mehr sein. 😉
Hier hat Tokyo Machine eher auf metallische Sounds gesetzt, das passt trotzdem recht gut zu den Liedern und dem Album als Gesamtes.

Got my new blues tune up. Guitars are Telecaster (L) and Danelectro 59M through the EHX B9 organ pedal (R). Bass is Fender p-bass. Harp is Hohner Special 20 B flat. I’m capo’d at the first fret on guitars, and through Keeley compressor. Harp and Tele are both through MXR Timmy. Drums are MT Power Drum kit sampler. I also tracked a Latin percussion shaker. Mics are Apex 550 for vocals and an Apex 327 for harp. Le réseau thématique 14 « Sociologie de l’art et de la culture » organise prochainement un temps d’échanges avec Arielle Nganso, autour de son ouvrage :

Au cours des années 1970, la rumba, le soukous et le makossa forment une « sono mondiale » dont la circulation entre les continents est lourde d’enjeux politiques. Dans un contexte postcolonial fortement marqué par la persistance d’un impérialisme culturel français, leur renommée dépasse les frontières de l’Afrique centrale pour s’exporter en Europe et en Amérique, grâce à la popularité d’artistes comme Manu Dibango.

Cet ouvrage raconte la singulière histoire de ces musiques urbaines. De l’effervescence culturelle post-Mai 68 à la diffusion du jazz afro-américain, en passant par la promotion intéressée par l’État français d’une world music francophone, Arielle Nganso met en lumière les facteurs qui ont concouru à leur large diffusion et les logiques impériales qui l’ont structurée.

Elle souligne les grandes difficultés rencontrées par ces musiciens pour produire et diffuser leur art en France : se heurtant notamment à une conception exotisante de leur musique, ces derniers ont été contraints de la formater aux attentes des oreilles occidentales. Enfin, elle réinvestit la question de la restitution des œuvres d’art africaines, en y intégrant le champ musical.

#Koven ist schwer einzuschätzen. Entweder werden super krasse Songs veröffentlicht oder total generischer #DrumAndBass mit - mir persönlich zu viel - emotionalem Gesang. Das Album finde ich etwas schwach. Da steckt viel mehr Potential in Koven, wie im Titel "In the Echo" bewiesen wurde.

hat sich Monstercat - Best of 2011 fertig angehört 🌕🌗🌑🌑🌑

Ich sage es so wie es ist: Das Album ist scheiße. Zur Verteidigung Monstercats: Es ist das erste 'Best Of' Album, als #Monstercat noch jung war und nur wenige Künstler zu Monstercat gehörten. Ein paar Lieder sind in Ordnung, aber mehr auch nicht. Lieblings-Titel gibts daher dieses mal keine. Selbst die 'guten' Titel heben mich nicht so richtig ab.
