The hole we find ourselves in is one we have allowed. We have watched it being built around us. Perhaps we even helped to gather the stones, to place them in the walls, thinking we were protecting ourselves. But as the walls rise, we can look upward and see enough of a wider world to realize that the protection is for those who fear our creativity and our humanity. We cannot be contained by those who are narrow and selfish unless we continue to allow it. And for the sake of our multitudes, we must break from these restrictions and free ourselves into new and more equitable possibilities.

The Gazania rigens often called treasure flowers, a native of South Africa. Introduced to the British Isles in 1760. They don't seem to be popular with butterflies and bees, I love them if they don't.
One image has the full flower wide open, then a close up of petals and stamens. The next is where the flower head is in the process of closing up for the day. The final image is the where the seed head has burst open ready to release its seeds on the wind.

After our walk, we came home with an image of a Eurasian eagle-owl.
Someone was not very happy to hear that.
Kevin didn't even want to see the photograph. I wonder why?
He was far more interested in the bird feeder.
We call him Kevin, but he is most likely a house mouse (Mus musculus), enjoying a free meal in our garden.
So while we had spent the morning looking for one of the largest owls in Europe, Kevin reminded us that you don't have to be big, rare or spectacular to make a nature encounter worth photographing.
Sometimes, you just have to look in your garden.
Or in Kevin's case, look for the bird feeder. ^.-

🧠 This is the Rylands Market Building in Manchester. I liked how the building and clock looked against the blue sky and clouds. I was lucky to capture the birds.
⭐ I took the texture and clarity down which I think gives it a nice dreamy look.
➡️ I wish the clock was more in focus rather than the pole in the foreground.
