Just had a sighted person tell me they often use features, clients and programs that were made for us, they don’t use screen readers, but they use accessibility features, even when they do not have disabilities, but also clients like a blind Mastodon client, or a text editor designed with screen readers in mind such as the ones I list on my Tools page at the end, as an example, because they said, the interface is 1000 times cleaner, there’s a lot of keyboard shortcuts, clutter free interface, even though the UI is basic, speed, less bloat, and a whole host of other things including, but not limited to, and never having to put up with distracting animation nonsense. You know software development has vastly sank in quality when sighted folk are using blind clients. Hi everyone! 👋 I know it's been a while since I was last here, but I had a very specific reason for it. I've spent the last few months with my small team intensely developing a project I mentioned to you once before. Every moment of my inactivity here was simply coding, designing the architecture, and endlessly solving problems
Today, I am proud to announce - LibreConnect has moved past the phase of vague plans and become a fully functional app!
We managed to deliver what was absolutely most important to us - an ecosystem connecting your 💻 computer and 📱 smartphone that respects your privacy 100%. Zero external clouds and hidden telemetry. Everything is based exclusively on a direct P2P connection within your local network and strong E2E encryption 🔐
So, what can our app actually do?
- Virtual camera and microphone from your phone
- Mobile device file manager right from your PC 📁
- Notification and clipboard synchronization 📋
- Receiving and sending SMS/MMS from your computer 💬
- Two-way media playback control 🎵
- Remote keyboard and presentation control from your phone
- Finding your phone by triggering a loud alarm (overriding silent mode) 🚨
- And a few other minor conveniences
We also made sure the project is truly cross-platform. LibreConnect runs natively on
Linux,
macOS,
Windows, and
Android. It's worth mentioning that the app isn't limited to just x86_64 architecture - we support ARM64 as well! To make updates easier, we've set up our own F-Droid repository, along with native packages for Linux package managers (APT, DNF, Pacman)

The code is 100% open-source under the GNU GPL v3.0 license
However, I have to be honest - the project is still very young. The app is highly usable, but it still requires optimization, might have some silly bugs, and can occasionally be unstable 🐛
That's why we need you so much right now. For the continued development of this app to make any sense, we need a small but engaged user base. I encourage you to install it, test it out, and report bugs, and for those interested - to join the project as contributors (you'll find a CONTRIBUTING.md in the repo) 🤝
If you like our vision, leaving a star ⭐ on our GitHub repository is the form of support we would appreciate the most. It's these stars that will allow us to take the project out into the world! Because of this, for the next few days, my activity here will focus mainly on promoting the app and its features - we need your help to build the right momentum. Thank you in advance for your support!

I migrated my profile here, so let's add a short #introduction:
I am the #developer of #ArcaneChat, one of the #DeltaChat developers and many other small projects related to it, like creating or porting several web apps to #webxdc (in-chat mini-apps), I also develop several #bots for the mentioned chat apps
Outside #programming I like to cook, #hike, learn to play the #guitar, chill listening to music, drink green tea, learn #German language (and I would like to learn #Portuguese, #Italian and #French if I even finish with German 😅)
I speak #Spanish and #English but I will be speaking only English in this account

Finally pretty happy with my "programming ls" example. This is a good programming with conditions first blush, I think.
Programming with signals and restarts that a run-time handler-bind hooks into gives a program, such as my %%ls here, *forward compatibility* not just *backwards compatibility* - which I explore as a property of ansi common lisp itself.
Thoughts!

I coded this one simply and iteratively, since a few people worked on reimplementing my #commonLisp code to-be-simpler.
The gist is that I show that deep learning updates, and indicate training as well are a simple true-positive/true-negative/false-positive-false-negative equation of the previous time step in an eminently explorable way. #DL #AI

Things got a little screwy, but I added parsing for the historic #sixel notation.
"P #0;2;3;4#3;2;3;4

CL-USER> (with-input-from-string (in *) (read in))

(#1# A B C D E -) (#2# A B C D E $))
That output e.g. renders sixels in a #mcclim application pane & also makes it clear why that macro looks how it does. #commonLisp #programming #unironic #retrocomputing

Two things you can see here... It's pretty hot! That's why I stayed home and implemented a missing feature into snac. That's what you can also see - it finally sends push notifications to devices! In this case, we can see notifications coming from #MastoBlaster App for iPhone.
What we can also see, it's still a bit faulty and not the expected content, but a first success here at least ;) I'll make some further adjustments when there's time and get in touch with @grunfink to check if we can get this upstream. Thanks to @stefano for testing with me :)

The gist is a clock that chimes (cuckoos, here, I guess) harnessing the power of conditions.
I think this sm0l article indicates that ansi common lisp condition handling is a more powerful expression of but similar to unix pipes; look at what modifying the handlers does and is like in the article.
SADLY I am not available for the #lispyGopherClimate sundaymorningineurope.
An appointment was made without asking me.
I think I finally found my gripe with nix
So I've written code/configs in a fair number of languages, and most of them fall into three categories:
- Bracy languages (C, Rust, Java)
- Python/Lua/OCaml/Haskell (syntax wise, don't go on semantics)
- lisps
nix technically falls in the second
but because attrsets are so pervasive, almost everything looks like the first
Worst of all, even the arguments are deconstructed attrsets, so it's often just
{ a, b, c, ... } : { whatever }
And my brain goes into bracy mode but I can't really use it because nix falls in the second category
FAIR WARNING: I've only written nixos configs in nixlang so far. My gripes are with that
