Black bear cubs waiting for their mum while she is catching salmon. There was a lot of communication between the cubs and between the cubs and their mum. Verbal and also tactile. I enjoyed watching their interactions, I just wish I could understand.

This time I'm showing the subtle beauty of early autumn, for those who so worship: 1) rice fields nearly ready to harvest, 2) spider lilies that are gorgeous, but that Japanese people find spooky, 3) bush clover every September, if you notice their tiny flowers, and 4) pampas grass, ubiquitous in the Japanese autumn countryside.

South Pacific Heathland Reserve at Ulladulla NSW is a great spot to see an interesting range of coastal
Proteaceae. In spring it's easy to spot (clockwise from top-left) Lambertia, Conospermum, Grevillea and Isopogon in flower on a short stroll around the cliff-top paths. There's also Banksia, Petrophile, Persoonia and Telopea (NSW Waratah) in the reserve - many at the very southern limit of their populations.
Definitely worth a look if you're visiting or passing through Ulladulla - you can see a lot of great plants in a short period of time!
