September 24, 2026, 9:49am. Town of Ulysses, Finger Lakes, upstate New York.

Canon F-1 | FL 35mm f/2.5 | 400TX | 1/125 at f/11 | ID-11 1+1 10:22 at 20.4 | m43 scan, grain2pixel | traditional treatment in LR/PS.

Metering this was interesting. The sky was EV 14; the shadows metered at 7.9 (but were certainly deeper in places -- I didn't cross the road). I put EV 7.9 at Zone I so that the sky at the top would be at Zone VII. The resulting scan needed almost no work to get the image I was thinking of (I wouldn't say "pre-visualizing"). Of course, I *had* been re-reading The Negative the night before.
