Trees, mountains, and the roads and trails that make getting to them so much easier, as this image from Two Medicine in Glacier National Park shows. The colors of the exposed geology are greys, greens, reds, and pinks, stretching from left to right in the upper half of the view. A deep blue sky with just a few white clouds appears above the mountains, with early fall colors evident in the vegetation below. The majority of the foreground is green trees with light trunks bisected by a silver-grey roadway that is partly in shadow. Thanks to the National Park Service and the Glacier National Park Conservancy for providing these beautiful views!

Few pleasures are as sweet as a bright autumn day, when the air is crisp, the trees rustle, the animals are readying for when the world falls silent, and the trees are at their most vivid hues...

Taken by me one November: "Red maple autumn leaves in sunlight".

Cats squeeze into he smallest corner. 🍋

In fact, there is a lemon tree next to them (right). Hopefully helpful to produce fruits for the very first time in this winter season! 😀 🙏

Two red and white tabby boycats lay snuggling together inside infront of a big window. The sun comes in. They press their bodies between planting pots, solarlight glass pots and planting materials.

Sunrise this morning in Glacier National Park (Lake McDonald). For more information https://www.nps.gov/glac/index.htm and #glacier #interpretation #nps #nationalparks #publiclands #landscapephotography #photography #montana Image credit National Park Service / Glacier National Park Conservancy #mtwx #mountain #lake #trees #mountains #travel #geology #season #fall #technology #sunrise #clouds #color #reflection

Sunrise this morning in Glacier National Park. Beautiful colors of gold, orange, and blue, silhouetted mountains, and a calm Lake McDonald combine for a particularly lovely image. Specifically, the sun is illuminating the bottoms of the clouds (center right) and these yellow, pink, and orange colors are mirrored by the lake below. In the distance, grey-white clouds appear over the lake, still in the shadows of the mountains. The furthest mountains are grey-blue (center). Those nearer to the lake are a deep blue-black (right). The dock in the lower left extends from an invisible shore towards a boat floating calmly in the water.

This is a landscape photo taken in the morning from the shore of a smaller lake in cottage county. The water is calm resulting in reflections of the clouds overhead and the trees on the opposite shoreline. A small patch of weeds is just visible in the foreground. The terrain on the opposite side of the lake is in silhouette. This photo has a peaceful feel to it.

When visiting Mount Martha a few months ago I took a morning walk with some friends along the Balcombe Estuary Boardwalk Circuit. It's an absolutely gorgeous walk. The place is beautiful, and the thick trees provide a nice shade that allows the sunlight to filter through in a very satisfying way.

I'm dropping this in as a #shittember entry. In my eyes, the focus isn't really great on the image and I can't get the lighting dynamics quite right. I like the image but posting this one makes me a bit uncomfortable, and (at least to me) #shittember is somewhat about easing up on yourself, freeing yourself of those performance criteria, and just doing it anyway, so here it is.

Balcombe Estuary Boardwalk Circuit, Mount Martha, Victoria, Australia

A photograph of an elevated boardwalk meandering through estuary bushland. There are many thin tree trunks on either side of the boardwalk though not many leaves to be seen. Most of the ground level is dark or in shadow, though some of the boardwalk is illuminated by bright sunlight that has filtered through the trees, and there is some greenery (perhaps grass or similar) on either side of the boardwalk further in the distance. It is hard to tell what is underneath the boardwalk from the image though it looks as there is branch and tree litter as well as some kind of grass, and it may be above some kind of small river or wetland. The bark on the tree trunks is light in colour and heavily textured, and looks like you could peel it off in sheets almost like thin paper. The edges of the trunks in the distance catch the sunlight and appear almost a light chocolate brown in colour. The angular boardwalk is made of horizontal strips of wood, and is lined with raised wooden edges.

When you are out and about and you see a nice tree, don't just pass it by, no. Go right up to it and touch its bark. Look up. See what I mean?

Looking straight up the trunk of a pecan tree ( I think ) and into its dazzling canopy with branching limbs and bushels of green foliage, and bits of blue sky peeking through.
