An abandoned pottery factory, somewhere in #France

The small French #pottery works thrived for decades. It remained modest, while competitors expanded and modernised. While this gives the #ruins a quaint charm, it was certainly a major factor in their closure!

Inside, the upper floors have long rows of wooden racks stacked with 100s of moulds. Heavy pieces were moved on wooden carts along a rail system.

Possibly not the MOST #Colorado #Photography I've ever done, but it's close. Unfortunately, phone camera, not my real camera but still, that's a kinda pretty picture!

A commuter train stands silently before a hell of a sunset in front of the Rocky Mountains. Sheets of clouds are died purple, red and pink and, of course, a flock of geese is flying against a blue swatch of sky.

A wide angle view of a sunset over a lake as it transitions to night. The lake reflects the sky making the whole picture symmetrical from top to bottom. In the middle of the photo a thin row of black sand dunes are like beads on a string. Dark blue clouds create interesting patterns. A thin orange sunset betrays the last rays of the sun peaking over the horizon. I have been traveling this week so I pulled this photo from September.

I photographed this flower at my home in Sydney as a still life image from a native bouquet which was given to me as a gift.

A vibrant Protea flower displays striking yellow and orange hues with long, thin petals extending outward. The flower contrasts beautifully against a dark background, highlighting its unique structure and vivid colors.

This flower is a Pincushion Protea (Leucospermum species), native to South Africa and also grown in parts of Australia.
It is characterized by its striking, spherical flower head made up of long, slender, brightly colored styles—usually yellow, orange, or red—that resemble pins in a pincushion. The bloom is supported by leathery green leaves, and the plant is well-adapted to dry, sunny environments, making it a popular ornamental in gardens and floral arrangements.
Leucospermum cordifolium is an upright, evergreen shrub of up to 1½ m high from the Proteaceae. The flower heads are globe-shape with a flattened top, 10–12 cm in diameter, and are carried individually or with two or three together mostly at a right angle to its branch. Wikipedia
